Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola has floored earlier speculations sparked after several advertisement published in Nigerian newspapers on Saturday, rallied support for him as a Presidential candidate in 2015.

The governor made this public through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hakeem Bello.

Hakeem Bello stated that the disclaimer became necessary in a bid to dissociate the Governor and the State Government from this unsolicited and unwarranted venture.

The statement which pleaded on the vigilance on the part of the people, added that ” members of the public are hereby implored to ignore the said advert and also be wary of the antics of people with such dubious intentions.”

Bello said the governor was focused on sustaining the high tempo of development engendering governance right till the end of his second tenure in Office and therefore cannot yield to distractions by any individual or group of mischief makers.
