The Kabiru Turaki-led Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the North, setup in April by President Goodluck Jonathan, has been granted a 60-day extension.
Initially, the committee was mandated to carry out its assignment within three months but has now been given the extension on the heels of bomb blasts in Kano on Monday evening.
Turaki told State House correspondents on Tuesday that the extension of time was granted so that the committee can conclude its assignment, saying members will not be deterred by renewed cases of bomb blasts in some parts of the country.
